Accelerated Orthopedic Technology Program

The Accelerated Orthopedic Technology Program at The Medical Careers Institute at Coordinated Health is a 20 week program. The classroom portion of the program will be conducted Monday Wednesday and Friday mornings from 8:30 am to 12:00pm with one 12 hour, weekend workshop during the first module and one 8 hour, Saturday workshop during the second module. This portion of the program is 140 hours in length and contains both lecture and hands-on experience. The 240 hour externship portion of the program will follow the classroom portion and will provide the opportunity for the student to develop skill competencies in wound care, traction, immobilization, assessment and documentation, and sterile technique.

Applicants must possess a Bachelors Degree in Athletic Training or Exercise Physiology (or a similar degree) from an accredited institution of post-secondary education as a prerequisite for admission.

Program is scheduled to begin on September 8, 2008.
